National Conference on Innovative Engineering Technologies (NCIET) – 2016 was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Faculty of Engineering, during the 11th and 12th of March 2016. This was the Second National Conference organized by the Department.  
The conference hosted a total of 28 external participants and 18 internal participants. A total of 29 papers were presented during the two day conference.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr.  Girish Kumar,  Professor, Dept. of EE, IIT, Mumbai on 11th March 2016. The first keynote address of the conference was delivered by Dr. Girish Kumar. The second keynote address was delivered by Dr. BratinGhosh, Associate Professor, IITKharagpur.
The paper titled “Simulation and Optimization of Crude Oil Distillation Using ASPEN HYSYS”, presented by Mr. Shankar N., of National Institute of Technology, Calicut was given the Best Paper Award and a cash prize of Rs. 3000/- was given.
